Why Science Communication?

Interactive StoryMaps and visual platforms make complex environmental data easier to explore and understand.
Effective science communication bridges the gap between research and real-world impact. High-quality data, analyses, and findings only create change when they are clearly understood, accurately interpreted, and shared beyond scientific circles. BRI works at the intersection of science, policy, and conservation action. Our communications team translates complex scientific information into clear and credible knowledge sharing. We catalyze collaboration and inform decision-making to extend the reach of research across local, national, and international audiences.
We partner with research teams to shape communication products alongside the science itself. By working collaboratively and iteratively, we help determine the most effective formats, level of detail, and presentation for different audiences.
Concise briefs and synthesis reports help make research understandable for diverse audiences. BRI’s communication team develops accessible 4-page reports that provide actionable insights that help policymakers, conservation managers, and the broader public understand key findings without needing to navigate dense technical reports. Whether it’s distilling a complex methodology or integrating local findings on a global scale, these summaries aid in sharing information widely for all.
Our role is to support researchers in sharing their work clearly and responsibly—whether that means organizing complex information, designing intuitive visuals, or preparing materials for public, technical, or decision-making contexts.
BRI’s communications team collaborates closely with scientists and partners to develop
customized products, including:
