Andrew served 5 years in the U.S. Army as a Combat medic. He transitioned out of the military to pursue a career in wildlife conservation and research. During Andrew’s time attending Unity College, he simultaneously worked for Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife full-time. At MDIFW, Andrew worked on several projects including the American Kestrel and Golden Eagle teams, Black Tern banding, extensive duck trapping efforts, and a multitude of habitat management projects. He also spent time in South Africa studying the ecology of several species.
At BRI, Andrew is responsible for conducting and assisting in ongoing investigations of loon demographics, behavior, contaminants, and genetics under the direction of the Loon Program Director.
