Wing Goodale, BRI’s Senior Scientist and Kate Williams, director of the Center for Research on Offshore Wind and the Environment (CROWE) are co-authors on a new offshore wind publication featured in Biological Conservation. Framework for assessing and mitigating the impacts of offshore wind energy development on marine birds presents a broadly applicable framework to assess and mitigate the impacts of offshore wind energy development (OWED) on marine birds. The framework addresses impacts within the context of multiple stressors across multiple wind energy developments and is intended as a globally-relevant approach for assessing and mitigating OWED impacts on marine birds that may be adapted to existing regulatory frameworks.
