Mark earned his master’s degree in ecosystem science and conservation from Duke University, where he worked to quantify carbon emissions from the development of oil palm concessions in Central Africa. He has worked all over the world, from the North Slope of Alaska to the rainforest of Central Africa, studying conservation ecology with a focus on anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems.
Mark joined the BRI team in 2017, and has contributed to multiple projects in the Mercury Center; primarily with data management and analysis and GIS analysis.
