Sarah’s interdisciplinary work reaches across the organization to support project management and data analysis goals, often from a geospatial perspective. She uses geographic information systems (GIS) to synthesize complex ecological datasets and communicate findings that advance our understanding of meaningful ecological patterns and processes.

Her work primarily focuses on the impacts of offshore wind development to migratory bird and bat populations. She manages large acoustic and aerial imagery datasets and conducts analyses to inform stakeholders about post-construction monitoring and management.

Prior to joining BRI in 2022, Sarah’s Master’s research examined the ecological niches of burying beetles and their relationship to Midwestern tallgrass prairie soundscapes. Following her degree, her work in Maine has focused on salt marsh restoration ecology, environmental permitting, and wetland delineation.
