Description
Birds of Amboseli: Kenya, Africa is a visually compelling and scientifically grounded tribute to one of East Africa’s most iconic ecosystems. Set against the backdrop of the greater Mount Kilimanjaro landscape, the book celebrates the rich diversity of birdlife that inhabits the Amboseli region.
The book also includes a comprehensive and current checklist of 536 bird species recorded in the Amboseli ecosystem. Proceeds help support bird conservation in Amboseli.
This checklist is the first of its kind for Amboseli National Park and currently confirms 536 bird species within the Park’s boundaries—410 regularly occurring species and 126 vagrants (birds that have been recorded on five or fewer occasions). Note, the species list of vagrants is placed at the end of this checklist.
